Politique de confidentialité de LyricWinter

Last Updated: May 20, 2026

Overview

LyricWinter ("we", "us", or "our") operates https://lyricwinter.com, a platform that transforms text-based stories into multi-speaker audio using AI-generated and AI-cloned voices. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to you.

This policy applies to our website, application, APIs, account features, voice upload and voice generation tools, story import tools, billing flows, support channels, and related services.

Information We Collect

Account and profile information

  • Name, username, email address, profile image, authentication identifiers, account settings, and linked sign-in providers.
  • Subscription, credit, balance, usage, and billing status information.

Story, voice, and audio content

  • Story text, imported story URLs, story metadata, generated dialogue, character names, character descriptions, selected voices, generated audio clips, and public/private story settings.
  • Voice names, descriptions, tags, public/private settings, email addresses you enter when sharing private voices, removal requests, and related metadata.
  • Uploaded voice samples, microphone recordings, audio files, video files used to extract audio, voice model files where supported, sanitized copies, generated voice previews, reference audio, and processing outputs.
  • File metadata such as original filenames, file sizes, content types, processing status, and storage paths.

Voice and audio data may include information that identifies or relates to a person. In some jurisdictions, voiceprints, voice models, or voice characteristics may be treated as biometric or sensitive personal information. Do not upload, clone, publish, or share a voice unless you have all rights and permissions required from the voice subject and any other rights holders.

Payment information

  • We use Stripe to process payments and subscriptions. Stripe may collect payment card details, billing details, payment method information, transaction history, tax information, and fraud-prevention information. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
  • If you use creator, voice actor, payout, or Stripe Connect features, Stripe may also collect onboarding, identity, tax, bank account, payout, and account-verification information. We may store related account IDs, onboarding status, payout status, and transaction metadata.

Communications and support information

  • Messages you send to us, support requests, feedback, bug reports, voice removal requests, account deletion requests, and related email metadata.
  • If you enter someone's email address to share private voices used in a story, we store that email address with the shared voice records and send that person a notification email.
  • Contact profile information used for email communication, such as email address, name, user ID, signup source, account creation time, mailing-list status, and email event information.

Usage, device, analytics, and log information

  • Pages viewed, actions taken, feature usage, search queries, voice and story events, purchases, checkout events, subscription status events, upload events, story-share events, identifiers, error reports, diagnostic logs, IP address, country inferred from network headers, browser or device information, user agent, referral information, and approximate device type.
  • Attribution information such as landing pages, referral sources, campaign parameters, advertising click IDs, anonymous or account analytics identifiers, subscription plan metadata, and share-link attribution metadata.
  • Cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies used for authentication, security, analytics, advertising measurement, attribution, debugging, and service improvement.

Third-party import information

  • If you import a story from a supported third-party URL, we may send the URL to a story-import or scraping provider, process the returned page content, and extract the story text and metadata. We may store the import URL, domain, title, word count, success or failure status, and related diagnostic information.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure user accounts.
  • Provide story parsing, story generation, voice assignment, audio generation, voice cloning, voice upload, voice search, voice sharing, public story sharing, and related product features.
  • Store, sanitize, process, convert, enhance, and deliver uploaded and generated audio files.
  • Process payments, subscriptions, credits, refunds, invoices, taxes, account balances, and fraud-prevention checks.
  • Send transactional emails, support messages, service notices, account notices, voice-share notifications, and, where permitted, marketing or product-update emails.
  • Monitor service performance, debug issues, prevent abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, investigate security incidents, and maintain reliable operations.
  • Analyze usage, measure advertising and product performance, improve voice search, generate or improve voice metadata, and develop new features.
  • Comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and protect the rights, safety, and property of LyricWinter, users, voice subjects, creators, and others.

AI, Voice, and Audio Processing

LyricWinter uses AI systems and service providers to parse stories, detect characters, generate dialogue, assign voices, clone or synthesize voices, convert audio, enhance audio, process voice-search queries, improve voice descriptions or tags, analyze audio where supported, and generate final narration.

Depending on the feature you use, we may send story text, prompts, character information, selected voice metadata, voice search queries, uploaded audio, reference voice samples, generated audio, processing parameters, operational telemetry about AI requests, and diagnostic information to AI, observability, infrastructure, storage, and audio-processing providers. These providers process the information for the purpose of providing the requested service, operating infrastructure, improving reliability, preventing abuse, and complying with their legal obligations.

We do not intentionally use uploaded voice samples to identify or authenticate a person. However, because voice data can be sensitive, you are responsible for ensuring you have consent and rights to upload and use any voice sample, voice model, likeness, or recording. For public voices or voices shared with others, you represent that you have permission for LyricWinter and the users you authorize to preview and use the voice for AI audio generation, not merely permission to upload the file.

Public Content and Sharing

Some features let you make content public or share it with others.

  • If you make a voice public, other LyricWinter users and visitors may be able to find it by name, description, tags, or search; preview it through generated clips or reference samples; and select it to generate new audio in their own stories.
  • Public stories may be viewable by anyone with access to the link and may include original story text, generated dialogue, selected voice names or voice-assignment metadata, and generated audio.
  • Public story audio may be playable and downloadable through signed audio links generated by the service.
  • Public stories may be copied manually or forked by authenticated users within LyricWinter. Forking copies story text, generated dialogue, and voice-assignment metadata, but not necessarily generated audio files.
  • Making a story public does not by itself make the underlying private voice samples or voice model files public. A public story that uses private voices may expose the generated audio and selected voice names or assignment metadata, but use of the underlying private voice for new generation requires separate voice access.
  • If you enter email addresses to grant access to private voices used in a story, we store those email addresses and create access records for the private voices. This is separate from making a story public or sharing generated audio. Recipients may be able to use the shared private voices in supported generation features until you revoke access or delete the voice.
  • If you make content public, later changing it to private or deleting it may not remove copies already accessed, downloaded, forked, cached, or shared by others.

Public voices uploaded without the subject's permission may be removed at any time, including after a removal request from the voice subject or another rights holder.

Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, account sessions, security, preferences, analytics, debugging, advertising measurement, and product improvement.

Our site currently uses analytics and measurement tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, and PostHog. These tools may collect information about pages viewed, events, browser and device information, identifiers, interactions with the site, and event parameters such as feature names, plan metadata, attribution fields, purchase metadata, upload metadata, and story-share metadata.

We use PostHog to understand product usage, conversion funnels, attribution, payment lifecycle events, and feature performance. We may connect website visits, account activity, product actions, story-sharing activity, and limited checkout or subscription metadata to the same account or anonymous visitor where technically possible, so that product usage can be analyzed with revenue and subscription outcomes.

We do not intentionally send raw story text, generated dialogue text, raw uploaded voice samples, raw generated audio, full payment card numbers, private support message bodies, or private account credentials to analytics providers as event properties. Analytics events may still include technical identifiers and metadata that can be personal information depending on the context.

Meta Pixel and similar tools may be considered "sharing", "targeted advertising", or "cross-context behavioral advertising" under some privacy laws.

You can limit cookies through your browser settings, device settings, and available platform controls. You can also contact us to opt out of marketing communications or request privacy assistance. Some features may not work correctly if authentication or security cookies are blocked.

When We Share Information

We share information only as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including with:

  • Hosting, database, authentication, storage, serverless compute, CDN, monitoring, and security providers.
  • AI model, AI observability, voice synthesis, voice cloning, audio conversion, transcription, audio analysis, sanitization, and audio enhancement providers.
  • Story-import, scraping, and content extraction providers when you import stories from URLs.
  • Payment, subscription, tax, fraud-prevention, and billing providers such as Stripe.
  • Email, customer messaging, support, feedback, and notification providers.
  • Analytics, advertising measurement, session analytics, and product analytics providers.
  • Professional advisers, auditors, insurers, and service providers that help us operate the business.
  • Law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other parties when we believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or service integrity.
  • Other users or the public when you choose to publish, share, or grant access to content.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do use analytics and advertising measurement tools that may be treated as a "sale", "share", or use for targeted advertising under some privacy laws.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain accounts, satisfy the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and maintain security.

Stories and generated audio can be deleted from the product. Deletion may involve redacting story and dialogue content, marking records as deleted, and deleting associated generated audio files from storage.

Deleting or making a voice private removes or restricts future access to the voice and its stored voice resources where supported. Voice deletion may delete stored voice files and request deletion of cloned voices held by providers where supported. It may not delete generated audio, stories, forks, downloads, cached previews, or other outputs that were already created using that voice.

Account deletion is handled by request through support. Some information may be retained after deletion, including billing records, transaction history, abuse-prevention records, security logs, error logs, support records, aggregated analytics, records required by law, and backup copies until they expire in the ordinary course.

If your information has been sent to a third-party provider to complete a requested action, that provider may retain information according to its own legal obligations, processor terms, and retention practices.

Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or portability of your personal information. You may also have rights to object to or restrict certain processing, opt out of targeted advertising or certain sharing, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, or appeal a denied privacy request.

To make a privacy request, contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. If your request concerns a voice, likeness, story, or public content uploaded by another user, please include enough detail for us to locate and review the content.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in the email where available or by contacting us. We may still send transactional or service-related messages.

International Processing

We and our service providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries. If you access LyricWinter from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction.

Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

LyricWinter is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Do not upload voice samples, recordings, likenesses, or personal information of a child unless you have the legal authority and consent required to do so. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will review the request.

California and Other U.S. State Notices

If a U.S. state privacy law applies to your information, the categories of personal information we collect may include identifiers, commercial information, internet or network activity, geolocation inferred from network information, audio or voice information, user-generated content, inferences, and sensitive personal information where voice, payment, account, or other data is treated as sensitive by law.

We collect these categories from you, your device, payment providers, authentication providers, service providers, and other users who share content with you. We use and disclose these categories for the business and commercial purposes described above.

To exercise applicable state privacy rights, including requests to know, access, correct, delete, opt out, or appeal a request decision, contact us at [email protected].

European and UK Users

Where European or UK data protection law applies, LyricWinter acts as a controller for account, billing, usage, support, public-sharing, and product-operation data. Our legal bases may include performing a contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the service, your consent, compliance with legal obligations, and protecting vital or public interests where applicable.

You may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, request portability, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Updates to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice through the service or by email.
